Google upgraded
17 February 2005
Google has released a third version of its web-searching toolbar for Internet Explorer, adding built in translation and contextual search functionality.
As the firm looks to remain ahead of the chasing search engine pack, it has upgraded the toolbar so that users are able to search the web from a static box on the IE browser and also block pop-up adverts.
Users have long considered pop-ups the most annoying form of online advertising, and Google's new tool is designed to ensure they do not bother users.
The move also means users have more control over their internet searches and Google is hoping the tool will ensure more advertisers are willing to invest in the search giant.
