Feedster and Eurekster join forces
17 September 2004
RSS feed and blog search engine Feedster has announced that it will power RSS and blog search results for social networking search engine Eurekster.
Integrating Feedster's news search technology and RSS feeds will enable Eurekster to provide its users and subscribers with an expanded search solution containing new sources of information and data beyond traditional web search.
"Both Feedster and Eurekster apply leading edge methods to bring users relevant and timely search results," said Scott Rafer, Feedster CEO. "It makes sense to offer users the next-generation power of RSS and personalized search all in one place."
Steven E Marder, president & COO of Eurekster, added: "Eurekster uniquely allows users to determine what is relevant to them and their communities of interest and social networks, and now we can allow them to choose Feedster-supplied blog results as one of their relevant search feeds."
In the future, Eurekster's users will be able to create custom FeedPapers to distribute to their networks, the company revealed.
Feedster is a rapidly growing search engine for online content and weblogs published using RSS. The company indexes more than 865,000 syndicated sources including over 50,000 professional RSS feeds from The New York Times, BBC, CNET, IDG, Wired and more., with around 5,000 new feeds added daily.
