New search engine helps voters navigate Presidential campaign
10 June 2004
Technology firm StreamSage has launched a new search engine, CampaignSearch.com, giving users access to campaign-related video and audio files from a number of websites.
The new service allows visitors to search a database of keywords and topics linked to campaign-related websites, including George Bush's and John Kerry's campaign Web sites, C-SPAN, PBS, NPR and more.
CampaignSearch uses complex Spoken-language-analysis software created by StreamSage to automatically identify the sections of audio/video news and speeches that are relevant to a voter's interests.
StreamSage claims that more than 75 per cent of Americans rely on broadcast news sources for information about the presidential campaign.
The firm's AVSE is fully automated and the software automatically "listens" to and then segments audio/video files. CampaignSearch can ingest many file formats, including mpegs, wav, smil, mp3 and others and clip creation is entirely automatic.
