New Shiremail service unveiled

UK-based community Planet-Tolkien.com has launched an email service for Lord Of The Rings fans.
The new service, Shiremail, offers a 1 gigabyte storage capacity to members for just £3.50 a month. Launched last week, the service has already signed up 1800 customers.
The Shiremail email service is available via the Planet-Tolkien website, a portal for fans of writer JRR Tolkien's work, and has a distinct Lord Of The Rings theme.
Shiremail.com claims to offer users a "stress free" email service, complete with virus and spam protection. It includes personal folder creation, a diary calendar, options to change the way that shiremail.com looks and displays information, downloading of email from other pop3 mailboxes and automatic mail checking with Message Highlighting based on certain criteria.
The service is described as, "a value for money ad-free email service including three separate industry standard virus scanning technologies, real-time spam filtering, customer support, and one gigabytes worth of mail storage all for just £3.50 a month."
Shiremail was developed by Planet-Tolkien operators and web developers Madfolk in conjunction with gradwell dot com Limited, a UK internet services engineering provider."
Meanwhile Northern Ireland-based Aventure Media has launched a free 2 gigabyte email service, which is reportedly ad free. The site also claims that it does not display any third party advertisements on the website or through users' outgoing email.
