25 May 2004
Polish search engine NetSprint has launched a search engine for Lithuania.
The new search engine has an index of 2.7 million pages, or 90 per cent of Lithuanian sites.
NetSprint will be offering keyword-based advertising as part of its search service, according to DMEurope.com. The company is partnering with Lithuanian advertising firm Ad.net to provide ads to accompany the Lithuanian searches.
If NetSprint succeeds with its Lithuanian service, analysts predict it will expand the search engine to its Polish audience.
NetSprint is also gearing up to release its own toolbar, complete with comprehensive search engine functions. The company is also planning to partner with Lithuanian catalogue site, Seklys.lt.
