Google enhances blogging service
10 May 2004
Google has revamped its popular blogging service, making it easier to use.
The search giant overhauled its web log service, Blogger, in a bid to catch up with its competition.
The new Blogger service now boasts new features, including posting by e-mail, comments boxes and profiles, to enable bloggers to communicate with one another more easily.
Google has also added a new blogging tutorial to its Blogger site to help new users.
"The focus is on lifting the barrier to start blogging," said Evan Williams, Blogger program manager. "A lot of the focus is on connecting people. A big reason people blog is to connect with other people."
The Blogger revamp marks the first major upgrade to Google's web log service in nearly four years.
There are now hundreds of thousands of blogs on the net.
