Google unveils new alerts tool
14 September 2004
Google has revamped its tool for alerting users to new additions to their favourite searches.
The search engine giant is currently testing the service, which brings alerts for Google's news and web search facilities under the same umbrella.
The new offering is designed to enable web users to get more out of Google's alert services.
Alerts enable Google's searches to become fully automated, providing regular email updates when new results are available.
The testing of the site follows the launch of MSN's news search website, Newsbot, which is designed to rival Google News.
Google recently floated on the stock exchange in one of the biggest public offerings of the year.
