Bosworth switches to Google
26 July 2004
Search engine giant, Google, has apparently landed the services of Adam Bosworth, the chief architect of BEA Systems.
In a statement, the company revealed that Bosworth would be leaving his post at the end of the week.
Bosworth, also a senior vice president of advanced development, has an impressive record in the technology sector having spent a number of years at Microsoft, where he worked on successful projects, such as Microsoft's Access database.
Bosworth's latest project at BEA was called Alchemy, which is a blueprint for how software companies can build mobile Web applications.
Speaking to infoworld, Shawn Willett, a Current Analysis Inc. analyst, played down the importance of Bosworth's departure to BEA's future.
"I don't think it's a huge deal for BEA at this point, unless there's an exodus," he said.
"Not to diminish Bosworth in any way -- he's very smart and a tech visionary -- but nobody is indispensable in these companies."
A representative from Google was not available for comment.
