Telstra launches ad campaign

8 July 2004

Telstra has launched a viral marketing campaign to spread the word about its new search engine.

Sensis, which the Australian telecoms giant hopes will challenge Yahoo, Google and Microsoft, is due for its official launch next Tuesday.

According to reports, the company is looking to hit the ground running by sending previews of the new site to members of staff.

Sample pages seen by Australian IT reveal that Telstra has gone for a minimalist design along the same lines of market leader, Google.

Sensis will offer the standard services expected from major search engines, but is expected to do well in the domestic market with its Australia-only search option.
