Dues paid for 'father of the web'

The 'Father of the Internet', Tim Berners Lee, is finally set to receive financial compensation as a reward for his involvement in developing the concept of the World Wide Web.
According to reports in the Daily Mail, Berners Lee will be rewarded for his substantial efforts by receiving the £650,000 Millennium Technology Prize from the Finnish Technology Award Foundation.
The award is the world's most financially rewarding science prize.
Mr Berners Lee has not benfitted financially from his invention due to his failure to patent the concept - a deliberately altruistic move on his part to ensure worldwide access to the valuable resource.
Whilst many scientists are to be credited with the development of the Web, Berners Lee's contribution is viewed as key to the establishment of the concept.
The 48-year old computer boffin was awarded a knighthood late last year for services to the Internet.
