Google launches AdWords in South Korea

Google has announced the launch of its AdWords paid search advertising platform in the Korean language.
The company has also signed a distribution deal with South Korean portal KTH HanMir to use its algorithmic search and paid listings.
The search giant revealed that the AdWords service was now available in 16 languages and explained that advertisers could now sign up to AdWords via a Korean-language setup system and pay for the service using South Korean currency.
Yahoo operates its Overture services in South Korea, distributing paid listings on Korean sites and controls over 90 per cent of the market.
South Korea has an estimated 30 million internet users and has the world's deepest internet penetration rate at 66 percent, according to government figures.
Google rolled out a Chinese language AdWords service last month.
