Yahoo ads help promote Vodafone service
9 February 2004
Yahoo's advertising service has gained further support, with Vodafone using it to promote cheap picture messaging.
The mobile phone network is placing photos of phone users for adverts on the Yahoo UK and Ireland homepage, which have been sent via its '15 minutes of fame' microsite, according to Revolution.
Winners will be notified by text message on the date and time their image will be displayed on the site.
To target Internet users, expandable banners have been placed on websites, geared around going out and sociability.
Lisa Bjornberg, consuming advertising manager at Vodafone told Revolution: 'Showing people the fun they can have using picture messaging and giving them 'their moment in the spotlight' in this interactive environment is a great demonstration and incentive.'
The campaign, developed by OMD Digital, highlights Vodafone's lower priced messaging for 12p.
