Boingo to integrate wireless points
23 December 2003
Boingo Wireless, the US Wi-Fi company, has signed a deal with ARESCOM to integrate wireless internet access points at more than 200 hotels to its roaming network.
The agreement will allow Boingo significantly to expand its aggregated network for business travellers through a partnership with ARESCOM, one of the biggest suppliers of internet and entertainment to the US hospitality industry.
Boingo's wholesale partners who use the roaming system for their own mobile or internet wireless services will also gain access to the hotel hotspots through the deal.
'Wi-Fi access in guestrooms and public spaces is quickly evolving from an appreciated upscale amenity for business travellers to a must-have standard feature for hotels,' Boingo vice president Colby Goff stated.
'Our partnership … enables both of our companies to stay ahead of hospitality's demand curve while significantly expanding our Wi-Fi footprint.'
ARESCOM has set a target of providing wireless access to 1,000 hotels by the end of 2005.
