Blog search engine threatens Blogger ban

Ice Rocket owner mark Cuban is reportedly threatening to ban bloggers using Google's free Blogger service from search results.
The blog search expert said the chances of Blogger blogs, hosted on blogspot.com, being excluded from Ice Rocket and other blog sites because of blog spam on the search giant's free service.
Mr Cuban said: "If you are an individual blogger whose blog is hosted on blogspot.com, every day the chances of you being excluded from icerocket.com’s, and other search engines’ indexes increases."
The production of spam blogs and spam in the comment sections of blogs, or "splog", creates problems with search rankings and blog search sites are now planning to exclude the sites of big companies, where spam is less closely monitored, from their results.
Mr Cuban wrote in his own blog: "Blogger is by far the worst offender. Google seems to be working hard to adjust their relevancy indexes to exclude splog from having influence on search rankings, but they don't seem to be doing anything more than removing reported splogs."
The Ice Rocket boss added that the company is "exploring a variety of options" to tackle splog and suggested that a system of email confirmation for blog posts might help tackle the problem.
The "blogosphere" has been doubling in size every five months or so for the past couple of years, with an estimated 80,000 new blogs set up everyday.
