Yahoo! and Motorola bring search to mobile users

29 July 2005

Mobile phone maker Motorola and Yahoo! have signed a partnership agreement to offer Yahoo! content, mail and search services on Motorola devices.

The two companies said that the new service will be available on all Motorola Linux-based mobile devices and other high-speed internet products.

Yahoo! and Motorola will be offering service such as instant messaging, email and search to mobile phone users and predict that the deal will generate more traffic for Yahoo! and provide extremely powerful mobile devices.

The Yahoo! services will use specific protocols to communicate and the internet portal also plans to add web-radio to Motorola’s new iRadio device, offering a wide variety of channels.
