Sedo has announced that the address website.com has been sold for $750,000, making it the most expensive domain of 2005.
Online domain names marketplace Sedo received more than fifty serious bids from companies in the domain name, web hosting, and web design industries.
Matt Bentley, CEO of Sedo.com, said: "The $750,000 price tag of Website.com represents the highest-valued sale in the domain name market this year, and Sedo is honoured to serve as the marketplace that matched its seller with an eager buyer.
