New split-screen search engine unveiled

An Australian web company has announced that it has launched the internet's first split-screen search engine.
Comparos claims that the new split-screen comparison online shopping site is the first search engine and web directory of its kind and insists that "no other search engine in the world makes it so simple to 'find and compare' on the web".
According to the Victoria-based firm, the unique split-screen feature on Comparos makes online shopping easier by comparing two websites at a time.
"Product research is one of the Internet's most popular activities," said Peter Bond, creative director at Comparos. "A Jupiter Research survey found that more than more than 60 per cent of Internet users engage in comparison shopping of some kind.
"Comparos offers a fresh and practical solution for these consumers and shoppers, enabling them to 'find and compare' in a completely new way."
Comparos combines both product search and product comparison capabilities in only two clicks and features a simple interface and easy navigation system throughout the search process. Selecting from a database of over 100,000 different and competitive sites, users select their search category for online shopping and then utilise the split-screen feature to compare and shop products.
Comparos also offers advertisers and online retailers a big-screen presentation format for each featured site, rather than banner ads. Companies can target specific product users by sponsoring specific categories and may also incorporate special introduction pages to feature a specific product or new offering. Comparos also offers a format for streaming and flash presentations.
