Google unveils video service

Search giant Google has launched a new video-viewing channel on its search engine this week.
The new Google Video service now enables users to seek and watch short video clips by both amateurs and professionals.
Watching the clips in Google's index requires free software available at video.google.com, which streams Google's videos through the Internet Explorer or Firefox Web browsers.
The Google Video service and software is still reportedly limited and provides little competition for the more expansive Microsoft and RealNetwork players.
Google is planning to charge web users for some material available through the Google Video service, in partnership with the content providers.
