Amazon makes search engine changes
18 May 2005
Amazon has unveiled a raft of changes to its A9search engine, including new support for the Opera 8.0 browser.
The revamp of the A9 search results display and personlisation tools sees more intuitive search column selection introduced, with checkboxes, a Yellow Pages location search box, easier access to additional search columns and personalised Your History, Your Bookmarks, Your Diary, and Discover tools on the homepage.
"The home page is now much smaller and loads faster, especially if your personalised tools are turned off," Amazon said in a statement.
Amazon has also introduced single column mode to A9 and drag and drop changes to the new beta release of its search tool.
