New job search engine Work.com unveiled

5 May 2005

Business search engine and directory Business.com has launched a new job search engine dedicated to directly connecting job seekers with premium employers.

Work.com provides an easy-to-use, customisable interface that gives job seekers the ability to refine and filter job results with one click. Job seekers can apply for jobs directly on the employer's career site instead of applying through the job board.

LA-based Business.com has announced that Work.com is now exiting its three-month beta phase and claims that the service has already attracted over 400,000 professionals monthly, facilitating more than a million direct connections between job seekers and employers.

"At Work.com we are committed to a quality versus quantity approach to job search," said Amos Schwartzfarb, vice president and general manager of Work.com. "Recognising the enormous shortcomings with current job search providers, Work.com has built a site that prioritises the needs of job seekers who want to cut through the clutter and junk to quickly locate opportunities with top-tier employers."

The new search site has been created by professionals from the search and employment industries and both job seekers and employers benefit from the service. Employers and advertisers on Work.com pay only for the candidates that click to their jobs on their website.

The company claims it is the first Cost-Per-Click (CPC) program of its kind, providing HR departments with quantifiable data and providing fewer but more qualified candidates for advertisers.
