GlobalSpec launches new internet marketing service for distributors

Specialised engineering search engine GlobalSpec has unveiled a new marketing service for distributors at the Electronics Distribution Show in Las Vegas, US.
Expanding its product line, the information service for the engineering community has used its patented search technology, SpecSearch, to customise its parametric search capabilities to meet the specialised needs of the distributor.
The new marketing option enables distributors to showcase their company, products, services and line cards on GlobalSpec for the first time, offering them access to nearly two million registered users regularly searching GlobalSpec.
GlobalSpec users search for locate suppliers, products and services meeting their exact needs and the site is a leading specialised information resource for the engineering community. SpecSearch allows users to search more than 79 million parts in 1,200,000 product families from more than 14,000 supplier catalogues by specification.
Scott Virkler, GlobalSpec vice president of business development, stated: "By adding distributors to the more than 14,000 manufacturer catalogues already searchable on GlobalSpec, we have strengthened what was already the most comprehensive information resource available to the engineering community.
