A new search engine that runs on portable drives has been launched, claiming to be the first portable search engine available.
Gaviri PocketSearch enables users to find and manage personal and business information on portable drives. Consumers can carry large amounts of information on the go using portable drives and the new search engine claims to be the "perfect portable drive companion".
New Jersey-based Gaviri says the unique pocket search engine provides benefits to users at work, on the road, in the office or at home, complementing the increasing capacity, speed and convenience of portable drives.
Gaviri PocketSearch runs on drives ranging in capacity from a few megabytes to hundreds of gigabytes, allowing users to quickly retrieve data from personal digital libraries, backups or stored digital collections.
"Gaviri PocketSearch gives users the ability to take their search engines with them, just as they do their data," said Yuriy Soroka, the chief programmer of PocketSearch.
Gaviri PocketSearch indexes text, HTML, music, video as well as most of the office suites such as Microsoft office, StarOffice, OpenOffice, KOffice, PDFs and a variety of other file formats. The service categorises data into easily understandable views and users can zero in on relevant results with one click.
