Hindi language search engine in development

A new search engine for Hindi speaking internet users is reportedly in the pipeline.
Anna University-KB Chandrasekar Foundation, the organisation that developed the world's first engine for Tamil websites has announced that it is working on a similar project in Hindi.
Officials at the Language Technologies division of the Foundation said they had reached the "second stage of development".
More than 16 people are working full-time on the project. The Tamil Website search engine can execute both site-specific and web searches.
The Anna University-KB Chandrasekar Foundation is a private-public initiative that has close affiliations with the Madras Institute of Technology. The organisation is also planning to launch search engines for other Indian languages, such as Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.
Hindi is the most popular spoken language in the Indian subcontinent.
