Yahoo! Mail is reportedly increasing its storage limit to 1GB.
The current storage limit for Yahoo! Mail until now has been 250MB.
Google's Gmail, which offers users 1GB of storage space, is expected to become publicly available from April 1st, one year after its beta launch. Google has already started giving Gmail accounts to random visitors to its webpage.
At the time of Gmail's launch, the Yahoo! Mail storage limit was 4MB, which was raised to 100MB, and again to 250MB.
Yahoo! is also believed to be planning to offer a free virus scanning service for its email based on Symantec's antivirus product.
The internet portal announced that the upgrade will be rolled out across all its users over the next couple of weeks.
