Search engine keyword prices down two per cent in February

Companies purchasing sponsored search listings saw prices decrease by around two per cent in February 2005.

Price declined three per cent from December 2004 to January 2005 and two per cent between January and February this year.

According to ZDNet's IT Facts, keywords in the consumer services category fell 19 per cent form an average cost-per-click of $1.29 in January to $1.04 last month.

Keywords in the consumer retailers category also declined 12 per cent between January and February to 46 cents, while travel marketers saw the average cost-per-click drop eight per cent from 88 cents to 81 cents.
