Google and GuruNet form official partnership
10 March 2005
Google and Israeli company GuruNet have signed an agreement to include Google's contextual AdSense advertising on Answers.com's information pages and integrate Google search into the product.
GuruNet Corporation, Answers.com's parent company, and Google have been working together for a while, but the agreement makes the partnership official.
GuruNet provides integrated online reference information and Answers.com, which has more than a million hits daily, recently won praise from Forbes magazine.
"Our revenue stream is based on including advertising alongside the million topics in our library," said Bob Rosenschein, CEO and founder of GuruNet. "We are pleased to be working with the industry leader and leveraging their broad ad inventory and strong technology."
"Answers.com now offers a co-branded, integrated and monetised version of Google's search functionality, allowing users to remain in one place for more of their information needs," the company said in a statement.
