Wrensoft unveils Zoom Search Engine service

Australian software firm Wrensoft has released Zoom Search Engine 4.0, which allows firms to add a custom search engine to their website.
The software package has no complicated set-up procedures. Users simply install the software on a Windows PC, index the site and upload the resulting set of index files, creating a powerful search engine in a matter of minutes.
Zoom can be used to create search engines or local intranet, and even for CD-ROM and offline distributions. It is a self-contained solution and does not depend on any external web services, so users have complete control over the look and feel.
There are banners or advertisements and Zoom can index over 100,000 documents and satisfy up to 200 search requests per minute. The software can also run on a variety of server platforms and is compatible with all standard hosting packages.
Searching capabilities include results ranked by relevance, wildcard and exact phrase matching, "Google-like" context descriptions, results highlighting and category searching. The search engine also features highly configurable indexing options such as: spider and offline indexing modes, stop words and skip pages, multiple domains support, word weighting options, and support for common file formats such as Acrobat (PDF), Word (DOC) and Excel (XLS).
Advanced features allow enterprises to log the searches made on their website and analyse them with generated statistical reports.
