Become.com public beta launched
14 February 2005
A new search engine for shoppers has been unveiled in public beta format.
Become.com, founded by the teams from MySimon and Wisenut, features buyers' guides, recall notices and relevant blog items, among other information on potential purchases.
The search engine looks for shopping-related content and tries to push the most relevant material to the top.
Anyone looking to use the new search service must currently register to use it.
Media reports suggest that John Glick from Yahoo! has left to join Become.com, while Chris Kermoian, formerly of Alta Vista, is the new site's vice president of product management.
