Dogpile releases new IntelliFind enhancements
19 January 2005
Meta search engine Dogpile has announced new feature enhancements that utilise its unique IntelliFind technology.
The enhancements use the IntelliFind query analysis system to better respond to queries with results from an array of specialised content sources.
IntelliFind, launched in November 2004, assesses the likely intent behind every query and searches only the content sources that are likely to return highly relevant results. With the new updates, IntelliFind now supports the integration of yellow pages content on web search results pages when relevant to a user's query. The feature is currently in the beta testing stage.
Dogpile has also launched Web Site Match, which helps users navigate the web more efficiently by matching every query against a database of the most popular websites and suggesting exact matches at the top of the results set. Web Site Match also employs a listing of common mis-spellings to guide users to their destination.
We've made these latest enhancements to Dogpile in our ongoing efforts to identify the likely intent behind every search and to respond with the most relevant content," said Melissa Turtel, senior product manager for Dogpile.
"Our users can look forward to additional product updates over the coming months that will make their search experience more productive and more enjoyable."
