Sprinks in Google takeover
27 October 2003
Advertising agency Sprinks has become the latest target in Google's continued growth, acquired by the popular search engine in a newly announced deal.
Sprinks' advertising service is now ready to be integrated into Google's Adsense programme, significantly boosting its operations.
Via the takeover Google will also gain exclusive rights to broker ads on Sprinks' sites, including the about.com network and 127 special interest magazine portals.
Google has recently announced plans to float shares on the stock exchange for the first time, and it has been reported that it will hold a public online auction of shares early nest year.
Estimates of Google's annual revenue range from $500 million (£295 million) to $1billion (£0.6 billion), with profits at least at $100 million (£59 million).
