Yahoo closes Microsoft games deal
3 October 2003
Yahoo has secured a deal to offer Microsoft PC games on its gaming website.
Games such as 'Age of Mythology' and 'Flight simulator 2004' will be available on Yahoo's gaming site for a monthly subscription of $15 (£8.50).
Over 100 fully playable games will be available on the site, requiring users to download chunks of software as needed.
Microsoft Xbox games will not be offered on the site, which attracts over 11 million gamers per month.
Yahoo, which provides full downloads, a store and gaming information as well as online games, has been ranked as the top online gaming provider.
It has recently launched a new search engine allowing users to compare product prices and buy from different retailers, in a bid to exploit the growing popularity of online shopping services.
