2 October 2003
Yahoo Europe has unveiled a new head of direct marketing, a new role created this year as part of a marketing overhaul.
Rich Pearson, originally from Yahoo's US operations, will be taking up the new position.
He has had past experience with firms such as Del Monte Foods and SegaSoft Networks and in his new role will be responsible for Yahoo's direct and online marketing.
Yahoo said that it was keen to strengthen its database through acquisition, cross-selling, improving loyalty and retention.
The ISP also hopes to use premium services such as Yahoo Personals to boost revenues.
Lindsay Biggart, director of marketing for Yahoo! Europe, told Revolution: 'The expansion of the European marketing team reflects our commitment to become leaders in the field of online marketing and our continued focus on driving product marketing strategies across Europe.'
